CVSS v3.1 |
The Loco Translate WordPress plugin before 2.8.9 does not restrict which file paths its translation file routes will read, allowing users granted the Loco Translate WordPress plugin before 2.8.9's translator capability to retrieve the contents of files of certain types from anywhere on the server, including outside the web root.
A flaw has been found in Linux Mint Xreader up to 4.6.5. This issue affects the function setup_document_content_list/g_strdup_printf of the file backend/epub/epub-document.c of the component EPUB File Handler. This manipulation causes path traversal. The attack is possible to be carried out remotely. The exploit has been published and may be used. Upgrading to version 4.6.6 is capable of addressing this issue. Patch name: a5aecea074e8564b7a22f1ce054b31ec862974b7. It is advisable to upgrade the affected component. One of the project maintainers explains, that "EPUB support was removed from Xreader and reimplemented in Xepub".
The Unlimited Elements for Elementor WordPress plugin before 2.0.21 does not sanitise file paths inside uploaded archives before extracting them, allowing authenticated users with access to its asset-management feature (Administrators by default, or Editors when a non-default Unlimited Elements for Elementor WordPress plugin before 2.0.21 setting is enabled) to write arbitrary files, including executable PHP, outside the intended upload directory on servers where the PHP zip extension is unavailable, leading to Remote Code Execution.
The VikAppointments Services Booking Calendar plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion due to insufficient file path validation in the extract function in all versions up to, and including, 1.2.21. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to delete arbitrary files on the server, which can easily lead to remote code execution when the right file is deleted (such as wp-config.php). Exploitation requires at least one File-type custom field to be published on the confirmation page shortcode, as this field is not created by default during plugin installation.
Formwork before 2.3.13 contains a path traversal vulnerability in BackupController that allows authenticated panel users to read or delete arbitrary files. Attackers with backup download or delete permission can supply a base64-encoded backslash-separated traversal payload that bypasses PHP basename on Linux to access files outside the backup directory.
In TaskingAI v0.3.0 in the QR Code Generator plugin save_base64_image function, a path traversal vulnerability allows attackers to write image files to arbitrary locations on the server filesystem by manipulating the project_id parameter.
The Angular SSR is a server-rise rendering tool for Angular applications. Prior to versions 20.3.36, 21.2.23, and 22.1.7, the CommonEngine retrieveSSGPage prerendered-page retrieval logic in @angular/ssr/node, and in @angular/ssr for versions 17 through 18, accepts a relative request URL containing a backslash parent-traversal segment on Windows. The non-special resolve:// URL base preserves the backslash, path.join interprets it as a Windows separator, and the pagePath.startsWith(normalize(publicPath)) check incorrectly accepts a sibling output directory whose name shares the configured public-directory prefix. An unauthenticated requester can therefore retrieve a sibling prerendered HTML page when that page contains the Angular SSG marker. The issue is limited to Windows deployments that pass relative request URLs to CommonEngine.render, have a prefix-sharing sibling output directory, and contain qualifying prerendered Angular HTML; it does not provide arbitrary file read. This issue is fixed in versions 20.3.36, 21.2.23, and 22.1.7.
An interface that accepts file uploads from authenticated users extracts the contents of uploaded archives without validating that extracted file paths remain within the intended destination directory. This allows an authenticated attacker to craft an archive whose entries traverse outside the destination directory, causing the extraction process to write files to arbitrary locations with the privileges of that process. This could allow an attacker to inject fabricated records into the system's stored data or tamper with application configuration.
Malcolm is a network traffic analysis tool suite. Prior to version 26.07.0, `safe-extract.py` protects file extraction with libarchive's secure flags, but creates directory entries with a raw `os.makedirs(os.path.join(dest, entry.pathname))` that has no traversal protection. An uploaded malicious archive containing a directory entry with a `../` sequence or an absolute path causes the filebeat processing container to create directories outside the intended extraction directory. Version 26.07.0 fixes the issue.
Office-PowerPoint-MCP-Server through 2.0.7 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows MCP callers to write and read files outside the working directory by supplying absolute paths or ../ sequences. Attackers can steer an AI agent via prompt injection to abuse save_presentation, open_presentation, or manage_image output_path to overwrite any server-writable file or load external files.
uv is a Python package and project manager written in Rust. From 0.12.7 until 0.12.18, uv wheel extraction on Windows can process a malicious wheel in a way that writes a file outside the installation prefix, including an executable in a directory already present on the user's PATH. Non-Windows hosts are not affected. This issue is fixed in version 0.12.18.
CodeArt Google MP3 Audio Player plugin (google-mp3-audio-player) for WordPress through 1.0.11 contains an unauthenticated arbitrary file read vulnerability that allows remote attackers to retrieve sensitive files by supplying a path-traversal payload in the file parameter of direct_download.php. Attackers can request paths ../../wp-config.php without authentication to download configuration files containing database credentials and secret keys, leading to full site compromise. Exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2023-10-19.
Nx is a monorepo solution for TypeScript and polyglot codebases. From 13.10.0 until 22.7.10 and 23.2.1, Nx migration planning reads the nx-migrations.migrations value from a target package manifest without validating that it is a contained relative path. A hostile direct dependency or a package introduced through a trusted package's packageGroup can supply .. segments or an absolute path, causing nx migrate to join an escaping destination onto its temporary directory. The migration archive can then write attacker-controlled bytes outside the temporary directory, while opening the destination stream can truncate an existing writable file even when no archive entry matches. This occurs during migration planning before review of the migration list or use of --run-migrations; the vulnerable installed Nx copy is reached when the normal nx@latest handoff is bypassed with NX_USE_LOCAL, NX_MIGRATE_USE_LOCAL, NX_MIGRATE_CLI_VERSION, --run-id, or fallback after a temporary-install failure. This issue is fixed in versions 22.7.10 and 23.2.1.
| Path-traversal vulnerability in QOS.CH Sarl Logback-classic on Java (logback-classic module) allows path-traversal vulnerability. More specifically, an
MDC-based discriminator value flows unsanitized into a nested
FileAppender path, letting an attacker who influences that MDC value
(e.g. via an HTTP header)
create and append log files outside the intended directory.
This issue affects Logback-classic: from 0.9.14 through 1.6.4. This vulnerability is similar to CVE-2026-19880 but involves other attack techniques. |
MineAdmin is a ready-to-use backend management system suitable for quickly building website backends, operation platforms, permission centers, internal management systems, CMS, CRM, OA, ERP and other business applications. Prior to version 3.2.0-alpha.2, the app-store plugin service concatenates unsanitized user-supplied identifier values directly into file system paths. An attacker can use path traversal sequences (e.g., ../) to read, install, or uninstall plugins from arbitrary directories, and potentially execute arbitrary composer commands. This issue has been patched in version 3.2.0-alpha.2.
Yonyou U8 CRM before V16.5 and V18 contains an arbitrary file read vulnerability in /ajax/getemaildata.php that allows unauthenticated attackers to bypass authentication using the DontCheckLogin=1 parameter and read arbitrary files via an unvalidated filePath parameter. Attackers can exploit this flaw to read sensitive files outside the web application directory, including configuration files containing database or service credentials. Exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2023-10-14.
In TaskingAI v0.3.0 in the DALL-E 3 image generation tool save_url_image function, a path traversal vulnerability allows attackers to write downloaded images to arbitrary locations on the server filesystem by manipulating the project_id parameter.
Ghost from 1.20.0 before 6.64.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability in theme translation file loading that allows authenticated administrators to read JSON files outside the active theme directory. Attackers can manipulate the locale setting to load JSON files elsewhere on the server, exposing server configuration secrets.
Path traversal in image-downloader 4.3.0 allows an attacker who can control the download URL to cause downloaded response data to be written outside the configured destination directory.
An improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory ('path traversal') vulnerability in Fortinet FortiMail 8.0.0 through 8.0.1, FortiMail 7.6.0 through 7.6.6, FortiMail 7.4.0 through 7.4.8, FortiMail 7.2.0 through 7.2.9 may allow an unauthenticated attacker to write arbitrary files on the underlying system via crafted HTTP or HTTPS requests.
