CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ext4: avoid online resizing failures due to oversized flex bg
When we online resize an ext4 filesystem with a oversized flexbg_size,
mkfs.ext4 -F -G 67108864 $dev -b 4096 100M
mount $dev $dir
resize2fs $dev 16G
the following WARN_ON is triggered:

This is because flexbg_size is too large and the size of the new_group_data
array to be allocated exceeds MAX_ORDER. Currently, the minimum value of
MAX_ORDER is 8, the minimum value of PAGE_SIZE is 4096, the corresponding
maximum number of groups that can be allocated is:
(PAGE_SIZE << MAX_ORDER) / sizeof(struct ext4_new_group_data) ≈ 21845
And the value that is down-aligned to the power of 2 is 16384. Therefore,
this value is defined as MAX_RESIZE_BG, and the number of groups added
each time does not exceed this value during resizing, and is added multiple
times to complete the online resizing. The difference is that the metadata
in a flex_bg may be more dispersed. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
pstore/ram: Fix crash when setting number of cpus to an odd number
When the number of cpu cores is adjusted to 7 or other odd numbers,
the zone size will become an odd number.
The address of the zone will become:
addr of zone0 = BASE
addr of zone1 = BASE + zone_size
addr of zone2 = BASE + zone_size*2
...
The address of zone1/3/5/7 will be mapped to non-alignment va.
Eventually crashes will occur when accessing these va.
So, use ALIGN_DOWN() to make sure the zone size is even
to avoid this bug. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: rt2x00: restart beacon queue when hardware reset
When a hardware reset is triggered, all registers are reset, so all
queues are forced to stop in hardware interface. However, mac80211
will not automatically stop the queue. If we don't manually stop the
beacon queue, the queue will be deadlocked and unable to start again.
This patch fixes the issue where Apple devices cannot connect to the
AP after calling ieee80211_restart_hw(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
usb: hub: Guard against accesses to uninitialized BOS descriptors
Many functions in drivers/usb/core/hub.c and drivers/usb/core/hub.h
access fields inside udev->bos without checking if it was allocated and
initialized. If usb_get_bos_descriptor() fails for whatever
reason, udev->bos will be NULL and those accesses will result in a
crash:

| A heap out-of-bounds write affecting Linux since v2.6.19-rc1 was discovered in net/netfilter/x_tables.c. This allows an attacker to gain privileges or cause a DoS (via heap memory corruption) through user name space |
| The Closest Encloser Proof aspect of the DNS protocol (in RFC 5155 when RFC 9276 guidance is skipped) allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption for SHA-1 computations) via DNSSEC responses in a random subdomain attack, aka the "NSEC3" issue. The RFC 5155 specification implies that an algorithm must perform thousands of iterations of a hash function in certain situations. |
| Tornado is a Python web framework and asynchronous networking library. When Tornado's ``multipart/form-data`` parser encounters certain errors, it logs a warning but continues trying to parse the remainder of the data. This allows remote attackers to generate an extremely high volume of logs, constituting a DoS attack. This DoS is compounded by the fact that the logging subsystem is synchronous. All versions of Tornado prior to 6.5.0 are affected. The vulnerable parser is enabled by default. Upgrade to Tornado version 6.50 to receive a patch. As a workaround, risk can be mitigated by blocking `Content-Type: multipart/form-data` in a proxy. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
octeontx2-af: avoid off-by-one read from userspace
We try to access count + 1 byte from userspace with memdup_user(buffer,
count + 1). However, the userspace only provides buffer of count bytes and
only these count bytes are verified to be okay to access. To ensure the
copied buffer is NUL terminated, we use memdup_user_nul instead. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: SVM: Flush pages under kvm->lock to fix UAF in svm_register_enc_region()
Do the cache flush of converted pages in svm_register_enc_region() before
dropping kvm->lock to fix use-after-free issues where region and/or its
array of pages could be freed by a different task, e.g. if userspace has
__unregister_enc_region_locked() already queued up for the region.
Note, the "obvious" alternative of using local variables doesn't fully
resolve the bug, as region->pages is also dynamically allocated. I.e. the
region structure itself would be fine, but region->pages could be freed.
Flushing multiple pages under kvm->lock is unfortunate, but the entire
flow is a rare slow path, and the manual flush is only needed on CPUs that
lack coherency for encrypted memory. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipv6: fix potential "struct net" leak in inet6_rtm_getaddr()
It seems that if userspace provides a correct IFA_TARGET_NETNSID value
but no IFA_ADDRESS and IFA_LOCAL attributes, inet6_rtm_getaddr()
returns -EINVAL with an elevated "struct net" refcount. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
x86/speculation: Fill RSB on vmexit for IBRS
Prevent RSB underflow/poisoning attacks with RSB. While at it, add a
bunch of comments to attempt to document the current state of tribal
knowledge about RSB attacks and what exactly is being mitigated. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
vt_ioctl: fix array_index_nospec in vt_setactivate
array_index_nospec ensures that an out-of-bounds value is set to zero
on the transient path. Decreasing the value by one afterwards causes
a transient integer underflow. vsa.console should be decreased first
and then sanitized with array_index_nospec.

| A flaw was found in libssh2 before 1.8.1 creating a vulnerability on the SSH client side. A server could send a multiple keyboard interactive response messages whose total length are greater than unsigned char max characters. This value is used by the SSH client as an index to copy memory causing in an out of bounds memory write error. |
| During the worker lifecycle, a use-after-free condition could have occurred, which could have led to a potentially exploitable crash. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 115.0.2, Firefox ESR < 115.0.2, and Thunderbird < 115.0.1. |
| Some mod_proxy configurations on Apache HTTP Server versions 2.4.0 through 2.4.55 allow a HTTP Request Smuggling attack.
Configurations are affected when mod_proxy is enabled along with some form of RewriteRule
or ProxyPassMatch in which a non-specific pattern matches
some portion of the user-supplied request-target (URL) data and is then
re-inserted into the proxied request-target using variable
substitution. For example, something like:
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule "^/here/(.*)" "http://example.com:8080/elsewhere?$1"; [P]
ProxyPassReverse /here/ http://example.com:8080/
Request splitting/smuggling could result in bypass of access controls in the proxy server, proxying unintended URLs to existing origin servers, and cache poisoning. Users are recommended to update to at least version 2.4.56 of Apache HTTP Server. |
| Mozilla developers and the Mozilla Fuzzing Team reported memory safety bugs present in Firefox 108 and Firefox ESR 102.6. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort some of these could have been exploited to run arbitrary code. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 109, Firefox ESR < 102.7, and Thunderbird < 102.7. |
| Regular expressions used to filter out forbidden properties and values from style directives in calls to `console.log` weren't accounting for external URLs. Data could then be potentially exfiltrated from the browser. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 109, Firefox ESR < 102.7, and Thunderbird < 102.7. |
| A mishandled security check when creating a WebSocket in a WebWorker caused the Content Security Policy connect-src header to be ignored. This could lead to connections to restricted origins from inside WebWorkers. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 109, Firefox ESR < 102.7, and Thunderbird < 102.7. |
| Navigations were being allowed when dragging a URL from a cross-origin iframe into the same tab which could lead to website spoofing attacks This vulnerability affects Firefox < 109, Firefox ESR < 102.7, and Thunderbird < 102.7. |
| When copying a network request from the developer tools panel as a curl command the output was not being properly sanitized and could allow arbitrary commands to be hidden within. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 109, Firefox ESR < 102.7, and Thunderbird < 102.7. |
