CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ACPI: button: Fix ACPI GPE handler leak during removal
Commit a7e23ec17fee ("ACPI: button: Install notifier for system events
as well") changed the ACPI notify handler type for ACPI buttons to
ACPI_ALL_NOTIFY, but it forgot to update acpi_button_remove() to reflect
that change. This leads to leaking the notify handler past driver
removal, which may cause a kernel crash to occur if ACPI notify on
the given device is triggered after removing the driver, and causes a
subsequent probe of the given device with the same driver to fail.
Address this by updating the acpi_remove_notify_handler() call in
acpi_button_remove() as appropriate. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/sched: fix packet loop on netem when duplicate is on
When netem duplicates a packet it re-enqueues the copy at the root qdisc.
If another netem sits in the tree the copy can be duplicated
again, recursing until the stack or memory is exhausted.
The original duplication guard temporarily zeroed q->duplicate around
the re-enqueue, but that does not cover all cases because it is
per-qdisc state shared across all concurrent enqueue paths
and is not safe without additional locking.
Use the skb tc_depth field introduced in an earlier patch:
- increment it on the duplicate before re-enqueue
- skip duplication for any skb whose tc_depth is already non-zero.
This marks the packet itself rather than mutating qdisc state,
therefore it is safe regardless of tree topology or concurrency. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
power: supply: max77705: Free allocated workqueue and fix removal order
Use devm interface for allocating workqueue to fix two bugs at the same
time:
1. Driver leaks the memory on remove(), because the workqueue is not
destroyed.
2. Driver allocates workqueue and then registers interrupt handlers
with devm interface. This means that probe error paths will not use a
reversed order, but first destroy the workqueue and then, via devm
release handlers, free the interrupt.
The interrupt handler schedules work on this exact workqueue, thus if
interrupt is hit in this short time window - after destroying
workqueue, but before devm() frees the interrupt - the schedulled
work will lead to use of freed memory.
Change is not equivalent in the workqueue itself: use non-legacy API
which does not set (__WQ_LEGACY | WQ_MEM_RECLAIM). The workqueue is
used to update power supply (power_supply_changed()) status, thus there
is no point to run it for memory reclaim. Note that dev_name() is not
directly used in second argument to prevent possible unlikely parsing
any "%" character in device name as format. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: cfg80211: enforce HE/EHT cap/oper consistency
Xiang Mei reports that mac80211 could crash if eht_cap is set
but eht_oper isn't. Rather than fixing that for the individual
user(s), enforce that both HE/EHT have consistent elements. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ptp: ocp: fix resource freeing order
Commit a60fc3294a37 ("ptp: rework ptp_clock_unregister() to disable
events") added a call to ptp_disable_all_events() which changes the
configuration of pins if they support EXTTS events. In ptp_ocp_detach()
pins resources are freed before ptp_clock_unregister() and it leads to
use-after-free during driver removal. Fix it by changing the order of
free/unregister calls. To avoid irq handler running on the other core
while ptp device unregistering, call synchronize_irq() after HW is
configured to stop producing irqs and no irqs are in-flight. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ublk: reset per-IO canceled flag on each fetch
If a ublk server starts recovering devices but dies before issuing fetch
commands for all IOs, cancellation of the fetch commands that were
successfully issued may never complete. This is because the per-IO
canceled flag can remain set even after the fetch for that IO has been
submitted - the per-IO canceled flags for all IOs in a queue are reset
together only once all IOs for that queue have been fetched. So if a
nonempty proper subset of the IOs for a queue are fetched when the ublk
server dies, the IOs in that subset will never successfully be canceled,
as their canceled flags remain set, and this prevents ublk_cancel_cmd
from actually calling io_uring_cmd_done on the commands, despite the
fact that they are outstanding.
Fix this by resetting the per-IO cancel flags immediately when each IO
is fetched instead of waiting for all IOs for the queue (which may never
happen). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ice: fix race condition in TX timestamp ring cleanup
Fix a race condition between ice_free_tx_tstamp_ring() and ice_tx_map()
that can cause a NULL pointer dereference.
ice_free_tx_tstamp_ring currently clears the ICE_TX_FLAGS_TXTIME flag
after NULLing the tstamp_ring. This could allow a concurrent ice_tx_map
call on another CPU to dereference the tstamp_ring, which could lead to
a NULL pointer dereference.
CPU A:ice_free_tx_tstamp_ring() | CPU B:ice_tx_map()
--------------------------------|---------------------------------
tx_ring->tstamp_ring = NULL |
| ice_is_txtime_cfg() -> true
| tstamp_ring = tx_ring->tstamp_ring
| tstamp_ring->count // NULL deref!
flags &= ~ICE_TX_FLAGS_TXTIME |
Fix by:
1. Reordering ice_free_tx_tstamp_ring() to clear the flag before
NULLing the pointer, with smp_wmb() to ensure proper ordering.
2. Adding smp_rmb() in ice_tx_map() after the flag check to order the
flag read before the pointer read, using READ_ONCE() for the
pointer, and adding a NULL check as a safety net.
3. Converting tx_ring->flags from u8 to DECLARE_BITMAP() and using
atomic bitops (set_bit(), clear_bit(), test_bit()) for all flag
operations throughout the driver:
- ICE_TX_RING_FLAGS_XDP
- ICE_TX_RING_FLAGS_VLAN_L2TAG1
- ICE_TX_RING_FLAGS_VLAN_L2TAG2
- ICE_TX_RING_FLAGS_TXTIME |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ice: fix potential NULL pointer deref in error path of ice_set_ringparam()
ice_set_ringparam nullifies tstamp_ring of temporary tx_rings, without
clearing ICE_TX_RING_FLAGS_TXTIME bit.
When ICE_TX_RING_FLAGS_TXTIME is set and the subsequent
ice_setup_tx_ring() call fails, a NULL pointer dereference could happen
in the unwinding sequence:
ice_clean_tx_ring()
-> ice_is_txtime_cfg() == true (ICE_TX_RING_FLAGS_TXTIME is set)
-> ice_free_tx_tstamp_ring()
-> ice_free_tstamp_ring()
-> tstamp_ring->desc (NULL deref)
Clear ICE_TX_RING_FLAGS_TXTIME bit to avoid the potential issue.
Note that this potential issue is found by manual code review.
Compile test only since unfortunately I don't have E830 devices. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/ttm: Fix ttm_bo_swapout() infinite LRU walk on swapout failure
When ttm_tt_swapout() fails, the current code calls
ttm_resource_add_bulk_move() followed by ttm_resource_move_to_lru_tail()
to restore the resource's bulk_move membership.
However, ttm_resource_move_to_lru_tail() places the resource at the tail
of the LRU list which, relative to the walk cursor's hitch node (placed
immediately after the resource when it was yielded), puts the resource
*in front of the* the hitch. The next list_for_each_entry_continue() from
the hitch finds the same resource again, causing an infinite loop.
Fix by deferring del_bulk_move to the success path only.
On the success path, TTM_TT_FLAG_SWAPPED has just been set by
ttm_tt_swapout() but the resource is still tracked in the bulk_move range,
so ttm_resource_del_bulk_move()'s !ttm_resource_unevictable() guard would
incorrectly skip the removal. Introduce
ttm_resource_del_bulk_move_unevictable() which bypasses that guard. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/ttm: Fix ttm_bo_shrink() infinite LRU walk on backup failure
Apply the same fix as b2ed01e7ad ("drm/ttm: Fix ttm_bo_swapout()
infinite LRU walk on swapout failure") to the ttm_bo_shrink() path.
Move del_bulk_move from before the backup to after success only,
using ttm_resource_del_bulk_move_unevictable() since the resource
is now unevictable once fully backed up. |
| Sensitive Data Exposure vulnerability in Erlang OTP inets (httpc_response module) allows Retrieve Embedded Sensitive Data.
The httpc client forwards the Authorization and Proxy-Authorization request headers to redirect targets without checking whether the redirect crosses an origin boundary. httpc_response:redirect/2 constructs the redirected request by updating only the host field of the header record; all other fields (including authorization and proxy_authorization) are copied verbatim. The redirect target host is never compared against the original host.
autoredirect defaults to true, so this affects all httpc callers that do not explicitly disable automatic redirects.
An attacker who controls a server that the victim contacts via httpc can issue a cross-origin 3xx redirect to a server they also control. The Authorization header (including Basic credentials derived from URL userinfo via httpc_request:handle_user_info/2) is forwarded to the redirect target, allowing credential theft. The same applies to the Proxy-Authorization header.
This vulnerability is associated with program files lib/inets/src/http_client/httpc_response.erl.
This issue affects OTP from OTP 17.0 before OTP 27.3.4.19, OTP 28.5.0.8, and OTP 29.1.2, corresponding to inets from 5.10 before 9.3.2.8, 9.6.2.4, and 9.8.1. Whether OTP before OTP 17.0, corresponding to inets before 5.10, is affected is unknown. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
pseries/papr-hvpipe: Fix race with interrupt handler
While executing ->ioctl handler or ->release handler, if an interrupt
fires on the same cpu, then we can enter into a deadlock.
This patch fixes both these handlers to take spin_lock_irq{save|restore}
versions of the lock to prevent this deadlock. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: iris: fix use-after-free of fmt_src during MBPF check
During concurrency testing, multiple instances can run in parallel, and
each instance uses its own inst->lock while the core->lock protects the
list of active instances. The race happens because these locks cover
different scopes, inst->lock protects only the internals of a single
instance, while the Macro Blocks Per Frame (MBPF) checker walks the
core list under core->lock and reads fields like fmt_src->width and
fmt_src->height. At the same time, iris_close() may free fmt_src and
fmt_dst under inst->lock while the instance is still present in the core
list. This allows a situation where the MBPF checker, still iterating
through the core list, reaches an instance whose fmt_src was already
freed by another thread and ends up dereferencing a dangling pointer,
resulting in a use-after-free. This happens because the MBPF checker
assumes that any instance in the core list is fully valid, but the
freeing of fmt_src and fmt_dst without removing the instance from the
core list is not correct.
The correct ordering is to defer freeing fmt_src and fmt_dst until after
the instance has been removed from the core list and all teardown under
the core lock has completed, ensuring that no dangling pointers are ever
exposed during MBPF checks. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
hfs: Replace BUG_ON with error handling for CNID count checks
In a06ec283e125 next_id, folder_count, and file_count in the super block
info were expanded to 64 bits, and BUG_ONs were added to detect
overflow. This triggered an error reported by syzbot: if the MDB is
corrupted, the BUG_ON is triggered. This patch replaces this mechanism
with proper error handling and resolves the syzbot reported bug.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mshv: Fix error handling in mshv_region_pin
The current error handling has two issues:
First, pin_user_pages_fast() can return a short pin count (less than
requested but greater than zero) when it cannot pin all requested pages.
This is treated as success, leading to partially pinned regions being
used, which causes memory corruption.
Second, when an error occurs mid-loop, already pinned pages from the
current batch are not properly accounted for before calling
mshv_region_invalidate_pages(), causing a page reference leak.
Treat short pins as errors and fix partial batch accounting before
cleanup. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: ctxfi: Check the error for index mapping
The ctxfi driver blindly assumed a proper value returned from
daio_device_index(), but it's not always true. Add a proper error
check to deal with the error from the function. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: ti: icssg-prueth: fix use-after-free of CPPI descriptor in RX path
cppi5_hdesc_get_psdata() returns a pointer into the CPPI descriptor.
In both emac_rx_packet() and emac_rx_packet_zc(), the descriptor is
freed via k3_cppi_desc_pool_free() before the psdata pointer is used
by emac_rx_timestamp(), which dereferences psdata[0] and psdata[1].
This constitutes a use-after-free on every received packet that goes
through the timestamp path.
Defer the descriptor free until after all accesses through the psdata
pointer are complete. For emac_rx_packet(), move the free into the
requeue label so both early-exit and success paths free the descriptor
after all accesses are done. For emac_rx_packet_zc(), move the free to
the end of the loop body after emac_dispatch_skb_zc() (which calls
emac_rx_timestamp()) has returned. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
blktrace: fix __this_cpu_read/write in preemptible context
tracing_record_cmdline() internally uses __this_cpu_read() and
__this_cpu_write() on the per-CPU variable trace_cmdline_save, and
trace_save_cmdline() explicitly asserts preemption is disabled via
lockdep_assert_preemption_disabled(). These operations are only safe
when preemption is off, as they were designed to be called from the
scheduler context (probe_wakeup_sched_switch() / probe_wakeup()).
__blk_add_trace() was calling tracing_record_cmdline(current) early in
the blk_tracer path, before ring buffer reservation, from process
context where preemption is fully enabled. This triggers the following

accel/amdxdna: Fix crash when destroying a suspended hardware context
If userspace issues an ioctl to destroy a hardware context that has
already been automatically suspended, the driver may crash because the
mailbox channel pointer is NULL for the suspended context.
Fix this by checking the mailbox channel pointer in aie2_destroy_context()
before accessing it. |

accel/amdxdna: Fix NULL pointer dereference of mgmt_chann
mgmt_chann may be set to NULL if the firmware returns an unexpected
error in aie2_send_mgmt_msg_wait(). This can later lead to a NULL
pointer dereference in aie2_hw_stop().
Fix this by introducing a dedicated helper to destroy mgmt_chann
and by adding proper NULL checks before accessing it. |
