CVSS v3.1 |
Kiteworks Core before version 9.5.0 is vulnerable to Arbitrary File Write. An improper restriction of a user-supplied file path in a Kiteworks administrative export feature could allow an authenticated administrator to write a file to an arbitrary location on the underlying host, potentially leading to command execution on the appliance. Exploitation requires an existing, authenticated administrative account with access to the affected export function.
zlib 1.2.11 through 1.3.2 contains a heap buffer overflow: after an underlying write() fails, gz_write() returns without resetting strm.next_in, leaving it pointed at the caller's buffer. A later gz* write call then derives a position from the stale pointer and writes past a heap allocation; any write() failure reaches it, including EPIPE on a blocking descriptor, and in versions before 1.3.1.2 the failed write must be followed by a gzclearerr() call.
Path traversal for some gaudi-container-runtime before version 1.24.0 within Ring 3: User Applications may allow an escalation of privilege. Unprivileged software adversary with an authenticated user combined with a low complexity attack may enable escalation of privilege. This result may potentially occur via local access when attack requirements are present without special internal knowledge and requires passive user interaction. The potential vulnerability may impact the confidentiality (high), integrity (high) and availability (high) of the vulnerable system, resulting in subsequent system confidentiality (none), integrity (none) and availability (none) impacts.
n8n versions before 1.123.80, from 2.0.0 before 2.39.6, and from 2.40.0 before 2.40.1 contain a path traversal vulnerability in signed resume URL generation for Send-and-Wait approvals. Attackers with workflow creation permissions can mint valid approval URLs for gates in projects they cannot access by exploiting unresolved traversal sequences in caller-controlled node IDs, enabling cross-project approval forgery.
Mako is a template library written in Python. Prior to 1.4.2, on Windows, TemplateLookup.get_template() in mako/lookup.py resolves template URIs with posixpath, while Template.__init__() in mako/template.py validates them with os.path, which uses ntpath. A URI beginning with a drive designator causes ntpath to absorb the traversal segments before the leading dot-dot check, while posixpath resolution can escape the configured template directory. An application that passes attacker-controlled template names or include paths can disclose process-readable files on the same volume, and a targeted file containing Mako template syntax may also be parsed and executed as a template. Raw URL paths are generally normalized before reaching this form, but query strings, form or JSON bodies, route parameters, and dynamic include expressions can preserve it. This issue is fixed in version 1.4.2.
DB-GPT 0.8.0 contains directory traversal in skill_upload (packages/dbgpt-app/src/dbgpt_app/openapi/api_v1/agentic_data_api.py:40). A remote attacker can use the validated exploitation path to write files outside the intended workspace or storage boundary.
mark3labs mcp-filesystem-server v0.11.1 is vulnerable to Directory Traversal due to an improper link resolution in validatePath (filesystemserver/handler/helper.go). When filepath.EvalSymlinks returns os.IsNotExist for a dangling symlink, the fallback validates only the parent directory and returns the unresolved path, so write_file (and modify_file, copy_file, move_file, create_directory) follows a pre-existing dangling symlink located inside an allowed directory and creates a file outside the configured allowed directories.
An authenticated path traversal vulnerability exists in the command line interface of HPE Networking Instant On. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker with administrative access to modify a limited set of files on the underlying operating system and to interrupt the normal operation of the affected service.
Joomla Extension - balbooa.com - Unauthenticated path traversal exfiltrates local files through auto-reply attachments in Balbooa Forms < 2.4.3.4 - Balbooa Forms accepts upload-field state as Guest-controlled JSON during public form submission. For every object whose `id` merely looks numeric, the component trusts the supplied `filename`, concatenates it below the configured upload directory, and adds the result to an array of local attachment paths. It does not load the referenced attachment row, verify ownership/session/form/field, require that the ID exists, canonicalize the path, or enforce containment. If the form's normal “auto reply” and “attach uploaded files” options are enabled, the component sends those local paths as email attachments to the address submitted in an email field. A Guest can therefore submit a nonexistent numeric ID plus a traversal filename such as `../../../../configuration.php` and receive any file readable by the Joomla process.
Path traversal / arbitrary file write in oc-mirror's operator catalog image extraction. When mirroring operator catalogs using either the legacy v1 path (--v1) or the OCI feature path (--use-oci-feature), oc-mirror extracts tar entries from catalog image layers without validating that file paths resolve within the intended destination directory.
Joomla Extension - balbooa.com - File meta data tampering in Balbooa Forms < 2.4.3.4 - The final form submission processes JSON arrays per upload field, checking only that IDs are numeric. Client-supplied filenames and display names are trusted directly, introducing potential cross-session claiming, metadata tampering, and path traversal risks (e.g., via getFilePath())
| Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted
Directory(Path Traversal) in the /WebAgenda/download/uploadFile.jsp
API endpoint of Flowring Agentflow 4.0 version before 2023/03/24 allows remote
authenticated users to write files to arbitrary locations outside the intended
upload directory via the path parameter. |
Joomla! Core - [20260905] - Core - Arbitrary directory deletion via cache purge action in Joomla 4.0.0-5.4.8, 6.0.0-6.1.3 -An improper validation of the cache group name allowed path traverals in the file storage of the caching layer, resulting in arbitrary directory deletions.
Marmite through 0.4.2 contains a path traversal vulnerability in the development server started by --serve that allows unauthenticated attackers to read arbitrary files. The handle_request function in src/server.rs fails to reject .. segments after percent-decoding and joining the request path to the output folder, enabling attackers to request encoded traversal sequences to access files readable by the marmite process.
GitPython before 3.1.62 does not validate the `path` field read from an untrusted .gitmodules file when updating submodules. While a prior fix (GHSA-hmq2-w58f-27jc) added Submodule._validated_name() to constrain the `name` field, and GitPython's own containment guard Submodule._to_relative_path() is applied in add() and move(), Submodule.update() derives the absolute checkout location from the raw `path` value without that guard. A .gitmodules entry containing directory traversal components (e.g., path = ../../../tmp/escaped) can therefore cause directories to be created via os.makedirs() outside the repository working tree, populated from the submodule URL on the clone path, and removed via shutil.rmtree() when force_remove is used. Exploitation requires an application flow that updates submodules at a non-HEAD commit (such as a historical-commit API); the common clone-then-update flow re-derives the path from a canonical tree lookup and is not affected. The issue is fixed in GitPython 3.1.62.
pacquet, the Rust package-manager component shipped in the pnpm npm package versions >=12.0.0-alpha.0 and <12.0.0-alpha.5, does not validate dependency alias/name paths taken from a lockfile before using them in install-time filesystem joins. When a user installs a project with an attacker-supplied lockfile using --trust-lockfile or a frozen lockfile, alias entries containing path traversal segments (for example '../../escaped-link') are used when creating dependency and package links, bin destinations, hoisted entries, and virtual-store slots, allowing symlinks and directories to be created outside the intended project and node_modules boundary. Version 12.0.0-alpha.5 validates dependency names and every virtual-store slot path with a shared safe-join containment helper before any filesystem materialization, rejecting traversal, absolute, platform-specific, and reserved names with ERR_PNPM_INVALID_DEPENDENCY_NAME.
VLC media player before 3.0.24 contains a path traversal vulnerability in the skins2 ThemeLoader that fails to validate member names in .vlt skin archives. Attackers can craft malicious skin files with path traversal sequences to write arbitrary files with VLC user privileges, enabling code execution through Lua script injection.
An improper authorization vulnerability in Fireware OS's Access Portal reverse proxy allows an authenticated, low-privileged Access Portal user to access other web applications they are not authorized for by sending a specially crafted request for a different resource which they are authorized to access.
A path traversal vulnerability in the Fireware OS WebUI management agent allows an authenticated administrator to read or list arbitrary files on the local filesystem by sending a specially crafted management request.
A missing authorization vulnerability in the wgagent management daemon's session initialization function allows an authenticated, low-privileged user (including a read-only or guest administrator account) to crash the wgagent process and read arbitrary files accessible to the daemon by submitting a specially crafted management API request.
