CVE-2026-94053 1 Apache 1 Mina Sshd 2026-09-30 9.1 Critical
Authentication bypass via LDAP injection in component sshd-ldap in Apache MINA SSHD versions 1.2.0 to 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. The optional sshd-ldap component provides support for integrating password and publickey authentication on the server side with an LDAP server. sshd-ldap is an optional component. SSH servers implemented with Apache MINA SSHD are affected only if they use sshd-ldap and do configure it to be used for password of public key authentication. Other Apache MINA SSHD servers are not affected. Lack of escaping LDAP filter metacharacters enabled successful authentication with username "*" and password "*". Users are recommended to upgrade affected applications to version 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix this issue by properly escaping filter parameters according to RFC 4515.
CVE-2026-94029 1 Apache 1 Mina Sshd 2026-09-30 6.5 Medium
Server-side memory exhaustion in Apache MINA SSHD 1.0.0 to 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5, component sshd-sftp, in the SFTP v6 check-file-name/check-file-handle extension. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. Using a very small "block size" (for instance 256, which is the minimum) on a huge file generates many (file size / block size) hashes. The resulting SFTP reply message was accumulated fully in memory server-side, which could, with a suitably large (possibly sparse) file exhaust the server-side memory, taking down the server. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix this issue by imposing a maximum limit on the size of the reply. Many SFTP implementations have a general limit on the size of SFTP messages anyway; typically 256kB as in OpenSSH or also in Apache MINA SSHD.
CVE-2026-94002 1 Apache 1 Mina Sshd 2026-09-30 7.5 High
Possible memory exhaustion in SFTP clients (DefaultSftpClient) in component sshd-sftp in Apache MINA SSHD versions 0.9.0 to 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. The sshd-sftp component provides support for SFTP. The SFTP client implementation, when receiving a reply, did not check that this reply corresponded to a request sent earlier. Unsolicited replies would be stored but never consumed. A malicious server could keep sending unsolicited replies until available memory in the client was exhausted. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix this issue.
CVE-2026-93994 1 Apache 1 Mina Sshd 2026-09-30 8.1 High
Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. SSH servers can be configured to require multi-authentication schemes, for instance two different public keys, not just one. In OpenSSH, this would be done by setting in sshd_config AuthenticationMethods "publickey, publickey". Apache MINA SSHD provides an equivalent configuration mechanism. In Apache MINA SSHD versions up to 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5 the server code in component sshd-core does not enforce that the two public keys presented are different. A user can thus successfully authenticate with only one of the two key pairs required by presenting this single key twice. This is a partial authentication bypass. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix this issue.
CVE-2026-94052 1 Apache 1 Mina Sshd 2026-09-30 9.1 Critical
A missing check in LdapPasswordAuthenticator in component sshd-ldap in Apache MINA SSHD versions 1.2.0 to 2.19.0 or 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5 bypassed authentication checks. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. The optional sshd-ldap component provides support for integrating password and publickey authentication on the server side with an LDAP server. sshd-ldap is an optional component. SSH servers implemented with Apache MINA SSHD are affected only if they use sshd-ldap and do configure an LdapPasswordAuthenticator to be used for password authentication. Normal password authentication via the built-in mechanisms in sshd-core is _not_ affected by this vulnerability, which concerns only LdapPasswordAuthenticator. Users are recommended to upgrade affected applications to version 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix this issue.
CVE-2026-93996 1 Apache 1 Mina Sshd 2026-09-30 6.5 Medium
Uncontrolled resource consumption in component ssd-scp in Apache MINA SSHD versions up to 2.19.0 or 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. Component sshd-scp of Apache MINA SSHD provides a Java implementation of SCP. The SCP command protocol is line-oriented with LF-terminated lines. The protocol handler in sshd-scp did not impose any limit on the length of such protocol lines. A malicious peer just sending a junk command containing a never-ending sequence of characters but never a LF would cause the receiver to allocate memory to store this whole junk command, exhausting memory and crashing the application with an OutOfMemoryError. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix this issue by enforcing an upper limit on the length of SCP protocol lines.
CVE-2026-93995 1 Apache 1 Mina Sshd 2026-09-30 6.5 Medium
Improper input validation in sshd-git in Apache MINA SSHD, versions up to 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. Component org.apache.sshd:sshd-git provides though class GitPgmCommandFactory a way to configure an Apache MINA SSHD server such that authenticated SSH clients can remotely execute git commands via the JGit library on git repositories stored on the server. In CVE-2026-58624 this mechanism was restricted to only a few git commands, including "git archive" without "--output" or "-o" options such that the resulting archive would not be written on the server but instead sent back to the client over the SSH connection. The fix done for CVE-2026-58624 was insufficient as it missed removing the single-argument "-o=file.zip" version of the command parameter from the "archive" command. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix this issue.
CVE-2026-77185 1 Apache 1 Mina Sshd 2026-09-30 9.1 Critical
Authentication bypass in sshd-core in Apache MINA SSHD versions 2.0.0 to 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5 for a certain (presumed rare) way to implement an SSH server. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client- and server-side SSH. In the server part of the library, a mechanism to perform "asynchronous authentication" exists. A server implemented with Apache MINA SSHD must contain explicit code to make use of this feature. The implementation of this feature was flawed and could potentially lead to skipping checking the signature in public-key or hostbased authentication, or returning a wrong result. Users are recommended to upgrade to Apache MINA SSHD 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix the logic error and which additionally forbid the use of this "asynchronous authentication" mechanism with the public-key or hostbased authentication schemes: if used, the SSH session will be closed and the server will log an entry indicating that asynchronous authentication may be used only with password or keyboard-interactive authentication.
CVE-2026-47321 1 Apache 1 Mina 2026-09-21 7.5 High
The CompressionFilter class uses ZLib to deflate and inflate data sent and received. When we inflate incoming data, the filter does not control the resulting size, and create a buffer no matter what. Some compressed data may have a compression ration greater than 1 thousand, leading to an exhaustion of the application memory, as we don't control the deflated size. The fix adds such a control by allowing the application developer to provide a fixed size limit, which when reached throws an exception. It also allows the user to provide a compression ratio that should not be exceeded, protected the application from small inflated files that inflate in gigantic files, but with a grace limit for the resulting size (1Mb) to avoid false positive (like a very small file inflating with a high ratio, but resulting with a acceptable size, like a few thousands bytes) For application using this feature, it is highly recommended to create the CompressionFilter and to pass the maximum limit as a forth constructor parameter, maxDecompressedSize: public CompressionFilter(final boolean compressInbound, final boolean compressOutbound, final int compressionLevel, final int maxDecompressedSize)Optionally one can also provide a maxDecompressRatio fifth parameter, and a decompressRatioMinSize sixth parameter to allow small inflated files with a high compression ratio to still be accepted. Here are the additional constructor: public CompressionFilter(final boolean compressInbound, final boolean compressOutbound, final int compressionLevel, final int maxDecompressedSize, final long maxDecompressRatio, final long decompressRatioMinSize) Also note that a fluent API has been added to spare the users the pain to call a constructor with that many parameters:  CompressionFilter compressionFilter = new CompressionFilter()     .setCompressionLevel(Zlib.COMPRESSION_MAX)   .setMaxDecompressedSize(1_000_000)   .setMaxDecompressRatio(100).   .setDecompressRatioMinSize(100_000);  Applications using Apache MINA are advised to upgrade and configure their CompressionFilter instance.
CVE-2026-94301 1 Apache 1 Mina 2026-09-21 9.8 Critical
The fix for CVE-2026-47065/ZDRES-232 ("resolveProxyClass Not Overridden - acceptMatchers Filter Bypass via java.lang.reflect.Proxy"), released on 2026-06-02 and announced as "Fully addressed" in MINA 2.2.8, 2.1.13 and 2.0.29, was committed to the  2.2.X branch only. The 2.0.X and 2.1.X maintenance branches never received the resolveProxyClass() override, so the 2.0.29 and 2.1.13 artifacts listed as fixed -- and every later release on those lines, up to and including the current 2.0.30 and 2.1.14 -- remain vulnerable to the exact allow-list bypass that CVE-2026-47065 was meant to close.
CVE-2026-56624 1 Apache 1 Mina Sshd 2026-07-28 7.3 High
Improper certificate validation in Apache MINA SSHD (server-side). Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. Server-side OpenSSH user certificate validation during user authentication in an Apache MINA SSHD server did not check for the unsupported force-command or verify-required options that could be embedded in the certificate, nor did it validate these options. As a result it was possible that a user could authenticate with such a certificate that included a force-command option but still was able to execute other commands. What other command exactly would be available to the user depends on the implementation of the server. This issue is fixed in Apache MINA SSHD 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M5. Applications are advised to upgrade to these versions. The fix rejects OpenSSH user certificates that include these options, since Apache MINA SSHD implements neither force-command nor sk-*-cert-v01@openssh.com user certificates (which are the only ones for which verify-required would make sense).
CVE-2026-58624 1 Apache 1 Mina Sshd 2026-07-28 5.4 Medium
Improper input validation in sshd-git in Apache MINA SSHD. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. Component org.apache.sshd:sshd-git provides though its GitPgmCommandFactory a way to configure an Apache MINA SSHD server such that SSH clients can remotely execute git commands via the JGit library on git repositories stored on the server. This GitPgmCommandFactory allowed a user authenticated via SSH to run any JGit command available, including commands that could write files at arbitrary places such as git archive with the --output option. Affected are SSH servers implemented with Apache MINA SSHD and using the GitPgmCommandFactory. If the GitPgmCommandFactory is not configured on the server, the server is not affected. It is recommended to upgrade affected servers to Apache MINA SSHD 2.19.0 or 3.0.0-M5, which fix this issue. The issue is fixed by restricting the available commands to a small whitelist of uncritical commands (such as git log). git archive is also allowed, but its --output argument is ignored and the archive is always sent through the SSH channel to the client.
CVE-2026-56623 2 Apache, Microsoft 2 Mina Sshd, Windows 2026-07-22 7.1 High
Path traversal on Windows in Apache MINA SSHD component sshd-git. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. A git server implemented with Apache MINA SSHD component sshd-git and running on Windows could allow an authenticated remote user access to git repositories outside of the configured server-side root directory. The path validation applied for CVE-2026-48827 in Apache MINA SSHD 2.18.0 and 3.0.0-M4 was partly ineffective for Servers running on Windows. Applications are affected if they use org.apache.sshd:sshd-git to implement a git server and run on Windows. Applications not using sshd-git or not running on Windows are not affected. Users are advised to upgrade affected applications to Apache MINA SSHD 2.19.0, which fixes the issue. The issue also is present in the pre-release milestones 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M4 for a new upcoming new major version 3.0.0. Again, applications are affected only if they use sshd-git and run on Windows. Upgrade affected applications to 3.0.0-M5.
CVE-2026-56452 1 Apache 1 Mina Sshd 2026-07-21 7.5 High
Path traversal in the sshd-scp component of Apache MINA SSHD. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. The implementation of receiving files or directories via SCP did not validate filenames in SCP "C" or "D" commands. A malicious sender could send filenames containing paths, resulting in files to be written in attacker-controlled places. The issue affects only * applications that use no longer supported Apache MINA SSHD versions < 2.0.0 and use the SCP functions to receive files, * or applications using sshd-scp in Apache MINA SSHD >= 2.0.0 to receive files. Applications using Apache MINA SSHD >= 2.0.0 not using sshd-scp are not affected. The issue is fixed in Apache MINA 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M5. Affected applications are advised to upgrade to these versions.
CVE-2026-47065 1 Apache 1 Mina 2026-06-03 9.8 Critical
ZDRES-232: resolveProxyClass Not Overridden - acceptMatchers Filter Bypass via java.lang.reflect.Proxy Assessment: Fully addressed. When the serialised stream contains a TC_PROXYCLASSDESC (the marker for a java.lang.reflect.Proxy ), JDK’s ObjectInputStream.readProxyDesc() is dispatched. JDK then calls the default ObjectInputStream.resolveProxyClass(interfaces) implementation, which performs Class.forName(intf, false, latestUserDefinedLoader()) for EACH interface name and constructs the proxy class — bypassing the accepted classes list . ZDRES-233: Class.forName(name, initialize=true, classLoader) in readClassDescriptor Triggers Static Initialiser of Allow-Listed Classes Assessment: Fully addressed. For ANY class on the allow-list, deserialising a stream that names it triggers the class’s (static initialiser) BEFORE any instance is constructed. This means an attacker who supplies a class name on the allow-list (e.g., the developer wrote accept(“com.myapp.*") , attacker supplies com.myapp.SomeClass ) causes <clinit> of SomeClass — and many real-world classes have side-effecting static initialisers Both issues have been fixed.
CVE-2026-48827 1 Apache 1 Mina Sshd 2026-06-01 7.1 High
Path traversal vulnerability in Apache MINA SSHD bundle sshd-git. Lack of path validation in git-upload-pack, git-receive-pack, and other git operations allows users authenticated over SSH access to git repositories outside the configured git server root directory. Applications are affected if they use org.apache.sshd:sshd-git. Applications not using sshd-git are not affected. Users are advised to upgrade affected applications to Apche MINA SSHD 2.18.0, which fixes the issue. The issue also is present in the pre-release milestones 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M3 for a new upcoming new major version 3.0.0. Again, applications are affected only if they use sshd-git. Upgrade affected applications to 3.0.0-M4. We would like to point out that a professional git server should not rely solely on file system layout and permissions, but should implement additional security controls to govern access to git repositories and operations allowed on particular git repositories.
CVE-2026-42779 1 Apache 1 Mina 2026-05-03 9.8 Critical
The fix for CVE-2026-41635 was not applied to the 2.1.X and 2.2.X branches. Here was the original issue description: Apache MINA's AbstractIoBuffer.resolveClass() contains two branches, one of them (for static classes or primitive types) does not check the class at all, bypassing the classname allowlist and allowing arbitrary code to be executed. The fix checks if the class is present in the accepted class filter before calling Class.forName(). Affected versions are Apache MINA 2.1.0 <= 2.1.11, and 2.2.0 <= 2.2.6. The problem is resolved in Apache MINA 2.1.12, and 2.2.7 by applying the classname allowlist earlier. Affected are applications using Apache MINA that call IoBuffer.getObject(). Applications using Apache MINA are advised to upgrade.
